This piece is a vector self-portrait that I did for my advanced drawing/portfolio class during my last semester at CU. This piece is the first installment in my 2-part fairy-tale series. To start off the series, I wanted to present myself in a fairy tale setting to reminisce on childhood memories. For this piece, I chose to recreate an old portrait of me as a vector drawing with fantastical/fictional elements, such as a crown and wings. I wanted to keep the background simple and chose to add in some flowers and used a solid light purple color. This, to me, emulates early 2000’s posters that I used to have up on my wall in my childhood bedroom. The white blouse represents childhood innocence, and the flowers represent blossoming as a woman and as an adult.
